BLACKLIST ON KEY ART

Here at Blacklist, we help market entertainment brands from out of home campaigns to AV trailers. But alongside this marketing we also create incredible key art for both scripted and unscripted shows, working with broadcasters, studios and distributors including ITV, Fremantle, National Geographic, Warner Bros., All3Media and SkyShowtime. Depending on the project, we might be working with an existing bank of photography, a handful of production stills, or starting with nothing at all and building something from scratch!

Our process usually starts with a range of rough concepts and sketches, exploring different ways to position the show and its cast. From there, we develop selected routes into more detailed mock-ups and style frames, working closely with our wonderful clients to refine the composition, tone and overall visual direction.

Where assets already exist, we can build the key art through design, retouching and compositing. For projects where the right imagery hasn’t been captured, we can also produce the photography ourselves, from planning and art direction through to the shoot and final post-production. That means we can create the image specifically around the idea rather than trying to force an existing still to do the job.

From the initial sketches through to final artwork delivery, everything is handled as one seamless process and lead by the super talented James Hanrahan. The result is key art designed not just as a single hero image, but to work across the different formats, platforms and territories a campaign needs for delivery and roll-out… and we can help with that too!
