Made for Screen: ANIMATION AND MOTION
Updated: Sep 29
Animation and motion is a huge part of what we do at Blacklist, and it comes in all shapes and sizes. Our broadcast work covers everything from title sequences, animated logos and full channel identities to motion graphics, production packs and animated content for live shows. We’ve created channel branding and graphics for the likes of Pluto TV, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Sony’s Kidzuko, built graphics and LED content for Comedy Central live shows, and developed the branding and animation for series including De Nieuwe Vermeer and The Lost Masters. We also work with Fremantle on EPKs, combining talent shoots with all the moving parts around them, from intros and outros to lower thirds and supporting graphics. And for All3Media, our work can start with the show logo and key art before taking those assets into motion too.
But broadcast is only part of it. Our animation team works across 2D, 3D, motion graphics and full CG, creating everything from social content and cinema spots to trailers and huge-format digital OOH. We’ve built large-scale CG animation for Disney’s Piccadilly Circus screens, created CG work for Pokémon, and regularly take campaign creative from a static idea into something designed to move. A lot of that happens with our in-house animation and motion team, but we also have a brilliant network of animators, artists, studios and specialist partners we’ve worked with over the years. It means the team can change depending on the job, whether that’s a beautifully simple piece of 2D motion or a full CG production. Basically, if it moves, there’s a good chance we’ve made something for it.
For Comedy Central, we built the digital sets for three live Roasts from scratch. Each year each celebrity received their own visual world, brought to life across 21 million pixels of LED, with on-stage graphics for the broadcast and branding that carried into the nationwide campaign.

For the Dutch series De Nieuwe Vermeer, we rebuilt a detailed version of Vermeer's studio in 3D, taking our cues from the light and colour of his paintings. It ran on the show's LED set and became a 360° digital experience. The series pulled in 1.3 million viewers for the premiere and picked up a Rose d'Or nomination.
For Pluto TV, we created logos and mini brand identities for a growing line-up of channels, giving each one its own personality while keeping it firmly part of the Pluto family.
We developed channel logos and compact brand identity packs designed to work across on-platform and promotional touchpoints. Each identity was built around a clear creative idea, with supporting typography, colour, graphic elements and usage guidance to give internal teams a flexible toolkit for rollout.
